RankR is a competitive VALORANT platform, and people swear here. Profanity on its own is not a violation: you will not get warned for it, and we are not going to filter your posts into something that sounds like a press release.
Talking about how someone played (their aim, their decisions, their rank, how the match went) is part of a competitive game, even when it is blunt. Ranked is competitive and people are going to be competitive about it.
The line is not a word list. It is whether you are talking about how someone plays or about who they are.
Attacking people over race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, or sexuality. There is no version of this that is banter, no reclaiming exception we can verify, and no framing that makes it fine. This is the fastest way to lose your account.
Following someone around the platform, piling on, repeatedly going after the same person, or organising others to do it. One heated comment after a bad game is one thing. A campaign is another.
In-game trash talk about the match stays in the game. Anything that reaches out of it and into someone's real life (doxxing, swatting, threatening to show up, posting someone's address or IP) is treated as serious immediately.
Telling someone to kill themselves is in this category. It is common in gaming, and it is not something we are going to wave through as banter.
Unsolicited sexual content, sexual comments aimed at someone, or pressuring people for images or contact. Nobody signed up for that by queuing ranked.
Phishing, fake giveaways, boosting sales, and links designed to compromise someone's device rather than show them something. If you are trying to get something out of someone's wallet or their computer, you are gone.
Posting the same thing over and over, mass-mentioning people, or using RankR purely to funnel traffic somewhere else.
Claiming to be RankR staff, Riot staff, or another player. Linking a Riot account that is not yours falls under this too.
The bar for actually removing something is real. The overwhelming majority of what gets posted here is fine and stays up untouched, and we would rather miss something borderline than delete a good post.
When something does cross the line, the response scales with what happened and whether it keeps happening. A first minor slip usually gets a warning. Repeated problems get a temporary limit on posting, then a suspension. Slurs, credible threats and hate speech skip most of that.
We also make mistakes. Automated checks get things wrong, especially in a game where half the vocabulary sounds violent out of context. A moderator can overturn an automated decision and put your content back, and content removals are reviewed by a person.
The ••• menu on any post, comment, profile or message has a Report option. Tell us which category it falls under and add context if you have it. Moderators read the surrounding conversation, not just the line you reported, so context genuinely helps.
Reporting things that are not violations, or reporting somebody repeatedly to harass them, is itself a problem we act on.
You do not need our permission to be done with someone. Blocking stops them messaging you, commenting on your posts, liking your posts, following you, requesting to join your LFG listings, and appearing in your feed. It works both ways, so they cannot reach you and you are not shown their content either. It is enforced on the server, not just hidden in your browser.
We do not scan your DMs for language. Two people swearing at each other in a conversation they both chose is not our business, and reading everyone's private messages to check would be worse than the problem.
What we do check is what is dangerous regardless of who consented: malicious links and scams. And if you report a message, moderators will read it and enough of the thread around it to understand what happened.
Community moderators can manage content inside their own community. They cannot see platform-wide moderation records, other communities' reports, or anybody's DMs.
Everything a moderator does here is logged with a reason attached, and content removals can be undone. If your content was removed and you think that was a mistake, say so: that is the mechanism working, not you causing trouble.
