Privacy Policy

Last updated October 16, 2026

RankR is new and changes often, and this page changes with it. Questions about your data go to admin@rankr-social.com.

1. Your account

When you sign up, RankR stores your email address, username, display name and password. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, so nobody at RankR can read them. When you choose a password, RankR checks it against known data breaches using Have I Been Pwned's range service: only the first five characters of a one-way hash leave RankR, never the password.

Anything you add to your profile is stored too: a picture, bio, location, country, region, main agent and links. So are the dates you accepted these policies and the version you accepted.

If you joined through a friend's invite link, RankR records who invited you, so it can credit them. They may get RankR Points when you link RankR Companion.

2. What you create

RankR stores the posts, clips, photos, GIFs, polls, comments, reactions, reposts, communities, LFG listings, scrims and reports you create, and the people you follow and block.

Direct and group messages are stored so they can be delivered and shown to you and the people in the conversation. They are not checked for language, only for harmful links, scams and spam. If someone reports a message, a moderator can read it.

RankR also records how the app is used so it can work and improve: which posts were viewed (to count views once per person per day), whether you have RankR open (for the online dot, which you control in Settings), the kind of device you use it on (phone, tablet or computer, and its operating system; never your browser details or IP address), the notifications you receive, and a small number of product events such as finishing a Clip Studio export.

3. Your Riot account and VALORANT data

RankR never asks for or stores your Riot password. When you link a Riot account, RankR stores your Riot ID, your PUUID (Riot's player identifier) and your region, and the date you opted in to sharing your game data. Riot requires that record.

Your matches reach RankR through RankR Companion (section 4) or through Riot's official API where RankR has access to it. From them RankR stores your match history: the map, mode, score, round-by-round events, your agent, your rank at the time of the match, your stats and your rank updates. RankR calculates your statistics, Coach insights and replays from those records.

4. RankR Companion (the Windows app)

RankR Companion is optional. It runs on your PC and talks to the Riot Client that is already running there, over the local connection the Riot Client provides.

  • What it reads: your own sign-in state and presence from the Riot Client; your match history, match details, rank and rank updates from Riot's game services; the players in your current lobby and their ranks; the replay files VALORANT saves on your PC; and, if you use Film, your own match recordings (section 5).
  • What it sends to RankR: your Riot ID and PUUID; your own in-game status (in a match, the map, the queue); your match records, which include the other players in each match (section 6); movement and ability tracks worked out from your replay files; if you use Film, facts about your own shooting (section 5); clips and GIFs you choose to post; and the name of your PC, so you can see which device is signed in.
  • What stays on your PC: the live score of a match in progress, other players' online status, the lobby and its ranks as drawn in the Companion window and overlay, the replay files themselves (read on your PC, never uploaded), your recordings, and your clips unless you post them.
  • Recording: when recording is on, the Companion records the VALORANT window during a match and cuts highlights from it afterwards. The full recording is normally deleted once the clips are cut. It is kept a little longer while it waits for its match to sync (at most about a day), and, if Film is on, until Film has read it. In Film's settings there is an optional test switch, off by default, that keeps recordings until you delete them. Clips are saved in your Windows user folder, and a clip leaves your PC only when you press Post.
  • Game audio is off by default. If you turn it on, clips include VALORANT's sound, which includes other players' voice chat. Your microphone is never recorded.
  • It never reads VALORANT's memory, injects into or modifies the game, or presses keys for you. It keeps a log file and your RankR sign-in on your PC, checks RankR for updates when it starts, and sends no crash reports or analytics.

5. Film (aim analysis)

Film is a RankR+ feature and is off until you turn it on in the Companion. After a match, the Companion reads your own recording of it on your PC and works out facts about your shooting: when you fired, how many bullets, where your crosshair was, whether you were moving, when you took damage and died. Only those facts are sent to RankR. The recording itself and the fight clips cut from it stay on your PC.

RankR joins those facts with your stored match to review your fights. The review is visible only to you. It is never shown on your profile, never shown to other players and never pooled with anyone else's. It is deleted when you delete your account.

6. Other players in your matches

A VALORANT match is a shared record of ten players. When you sync a match, RankR stores the whole match, including the other nine players, whether or not they use RankR. For each of them it stores what the match record itself contains: their Riot ID, PUUID, agent, team, rank at the time of the match, their stats and round events, and where they were at each kill, plant and defuse. From replay files it also stores their movement through the match and the abilities they used.

What RankR does with that today:

  • Match reports. Any signed-in RankR user who opens a match's report sees both scoreboards: each player's Riot ID, agent, rank at the time and stats for that match. Round-by-round detail and per-weapon breakdowns are shown only to a player viewing their own match.
  • The Companion lobby. In a live match, the Companion can show each player's Riot ID and rank, and for players RankR has already seen in stored matches, a summary of those matches (games, win rate, K/D, headshot rate, combat score, most-played agent). That view is drawn on the player's PC; RankR does not store the lobby.
  • Totals. RankR uses every stored match for statistics about agents, maps and ranks, such as each agent's win rate. These never name a player.
  • Shared replays. A public replay link can name only the person who shared it, and only if they choose to. Everyone else appears as their agent.
  • RankR does not give anyone who hasn't joined a profile page or a place on RankR's leaderboards.

If you play VALORANT and want your data removed from RankR, email admin@rankr-social.com with your Riot ID.

7. What other RankR users see about you

Your username, display name, picture, profile details, posts, comments, reactions, communities and follower counts are visible to other RankR users, and your profile page and posts can be seen by anyone with the link. Your rank, stats and match history appear on your profile only after you opt in to sharing your Riot data. As with every player, your row appears on the scoreboard of any match you played (section 6). Who can see when you're online is up to you in Settings.

8. Payments, RankR+ and RankR Points

Every new account gets RankR+ free for its first 14 days. The trial needs no card, and RankR works out when it ends from the date you joined.

When you buy RankR+ or RankR Points, the payment is handled by Stripe. You type your card details into Stripe's checkout, not into RankR, and RankR never sees or stores your full card number. RankR stores what it needs to give you what you paid for: your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your membership status and renewal date, and for points, the amount, the bundle and the amount paid. Stripe keeps its own payment records under its own privacy policy and the law.

9. Moderation

Posts, comments and profile text are checked automatically for things like slurs, threats and scam links before they appear. Some of that text may be sent to Anthropic, an AI provider, to judge context. Messages are never sent to Anthropic unless they are reported. Moderators can see reported content and past moderation decisions. Automated decisions can be reviewed and reversed.

10. Services RankR uses

These companies process data on RankR's behalf, only to provide these features:

  • Vercel: hosts RankR and counts page views without cookies or anything that identifies you. Some older uploads are stored in Vercel Blob.
  • Neon: the database.
  • Cloudflare: stores and delivers pictures, clips, GIF uploads and the music library (Cloudflare R2).
  • Stripe: payments for RankR+ and RankR Points (section 8).
  • Resend: sends account emails such as password resets.
  • KLIPY: GIF search. It receives your search words and an identifier that is not your account or email.
  • Anthropic: context checks for moderation (section 9).
  • Have I Been Pwned: the password check (section 1).
  • Your browser's push service: delivers notifications, if you turn them on.
  • Twitch: if you connect it, RankR keeps your Twitch name and public channel details, and no Twitch password or token.
  • PandaScore: esports fixtures and results for Pick'ems. RankR sends it nothing about you.
  • Riot Games: the source of VALORANT data.

RankR does not sell your data and does not use advertising trackers.

11. Where your data is stored

RankR's servers, database and file storage are run by Vercel, Neon and Cloudflare, and your data is stored and processed in the United States. If you live outside the US, for example in the EU or the UK, your data is transferred there. These providers protect those transfers with the safeguards the law requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

12. Cookies and local storage

RankR uses a cookie to keep you signed in. It also saves a few preferences in your browser, such as a chosen tab or filter. There are no advertising cookies.

13. Deleting your data

  • You can edit your profile, delete posts and comments, and unlink your Riot account at any time.
  • You can delete your account yourself (Profile → Account on the web, Settings on the phone). If you pay for RankR+, cancel it first. Deleting removes your account, profile, posts, clips, comments, messages, follows, Coach history, Film reviews, cosmetics, points, uploaded files, linked accounts and Companion sign-ins, and the rank updates and replay data you uploaded.
  • What stays: matches you played are shared records of everyone in them, so they stay, including your Riot ID and stats on those scoreboards, but they are no longer connected to a RankR account. Records of past moderation decisions stay so they can be reviewed. Stripe keeps its records of your payments. Deleted data can remain in the database provider's backups for a short time until those backups expire.
  • Clips and recordings saved on your PC are yours to delete; uninstalling the Companion doesn't remove them.

14. How long data is kept

Your data is kept while your account exists, until you delete it or RankR is shut down. Records of sign-in attempts are deleted after 30 days. Records used to limit how often a request can be made, which include your IP address, are deleted after 2 days. Used password-reset links are cleared regularly.

15. Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data RankR holds about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, ask for it in a format you can take elsewhere, or object to how it is used. Depending on where you live, for example in the EU, the UK or California, the law gives you these rights. RankR gives them to everyone.

Email admin@rankr-social.com from the address on your account (or with your Riot ID, if you don't have one). We may ask you to confirm it is you, and we reply within 30 days. If you are in the EU or the UK and unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

16. Security

Data travels over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. The Companion keeps its RankR sign-in in your Windows user folder, so anyone with access to your Windows account could use it: sign out of the Companion on a shared PC.

17. Children

You must be 13 or older to use RankR, and old enough to hold a Riot Games account in your region. RankR isn't directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.

18. Changes and contact

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes, and important changes are announced in the app. Questions, requests and removal requests go to admin@rankr-social.com.
